In 1965, the entrepreneurs J.L. Elkoro and C. Ayastuy founded ELAY in the town of Bergara in the province of Gipuzkoa. Initially, ELAY machines forged parts. Soon after, with the purchase of land in Antzuola, construction was begun on a production plant, the seed of what is now ELAY EUROPE.

After having consolidated its position in the forged parts manufacturing market, in 1970 the company made the leap to the incorporation of fineblanking technology with the purchase of the first press.

After focusing and consolidating in the fineblanking market, in 1987 a new technology was introduced which allowed us to offer our customers greater added value: plastic overmoulding.

In order to support the constant growth of ELAY EUROPE in the German market, a sales office was opened in Cologne (Germany) in 1994.

Opening of ELAY AMERICA in 2000 in the Mexican town of Celaya (Guanajuato). A production plant with a total surface area of 77,000 m² and covered surface area of 10,500 m², dedicated to the fineblanking and plastic overmoulding, aimed at serving the North and South American markets.

With the consolidation of ELAY AMERICA and in order to strengthen our presence in the American market, a sales office was opened in Michigan in 2010.

Inauguration of ELAY ASIA in Qiandeng Town (Kunshan), China. Production plant for fineblanking and plastic overmoulding with 5,000 m2, 2,000 m2 available for future activities, aimed at serving the Asian market.

In 2019, with the consolidation of the ELAY ASIA project, the available 2,000 m² were occupied by incorporating new facilities and reorganizing the production plant for improved efficiency and the provision of better service to the market.

In 2020, in order to respond to the constant growth of ELAY AMERICA, an extension of 3,355 m² was carried out. New facilities were added and part of the production was rearranged.
